Living with John Ruggieri has been a joy. My partner and I first saw his work in the Provincetown Art Association in 1991 and were immediately drawn to it. He suddenly appeared behind us when we were appreciating one of his pieces, which we now own, and he stepped up from behind us and introduced himself as the artist. It was kismet. Thus started a long and fruitful relationship between us. I had opened the Gallery Matrix in Provincetown that year and invited him to join. He was hesitant at first, but decided to take a chance and the results have been remarkable. Our openings were always exciting and his work always caused a stir of anticipation since he was always changing. Friends of the gallery looked forward to his next phase. After leaving our gallery behind, we continued our friendship with John. We have many of his works in our apartment on Beacon Hill, which, over the years, have brought great pleasure to us as well as the many visitors to our home. We look very forward to seeing how John evolves throught the coming years and wish him the very best which is what he deserves.
